Should I hire A Wedding Videographer?

If you ask almost any bride or groom what they remember most about their big day, undoubtedly nearly all will say the same thing, that the day passed in a blur and they didn’t feel they had any tie to themselves.

There are so many things happening all at the same time during your big day, that it is so easy to miss many of them. You cannot be all seeing. You could easily miss the arrival of the grooms, the emotion on the face of your grandmother as the bride approaches the altar and as everyone watches the first dance.
As the bride, you could be wondering what your entrance looked like and how your dress appeared to everyone. The expressions on your guest’s faces as you enter.

Video is the future.

Here at Wedding Videographer Scottsdale AZ, we've discovered that its engaging and interactive in ways that photography alone can’t be. Do you want to feel again, the emotions you had while saying your vows to each other, or the sheer entertainment everyone felt during the best man’s speech, or the look on your father’s face as he gave you away?

A wedding videographer can capture all of that for eternity.
They can capture all these amazing moments and more and integrate them into one movie, that you can watch with your family and friends.
Video allows you to dip back into those moments of your special day as often as you like. A professionally produced wedding film is without doubt, the ultimate way of encapsulating everything that happened during your big day.

Can’t I Just Hire a Photographer?

A photographer will capture many of those special moment, however, they will only be exactly that…that moment or snap shot in time, an instant.
The photographs will be displayed in picture frames, there’s no doubt about that. You can show them off and they will be admired over and over again, as well as uploading them to your social media.
A wedding photographer can capture all those special moments in an artistic and stunning way, a way in which a family member simply can’t.
It’s totally magic, the way in which a photograph can capture a spontaneous moment, such as saying “I do”, your first kiss, as you exit the ceremony as a married couple and seeing the expressions on people’s faces.  A wedding photographer can capture a moment in time.
The first look the married couple give each other on their wedding day is a precious moment, but imagine if it was all captured on film? Wouldn’t you want to be able to dip into it again, as and when you like and relive all those special moments. It will bring back the all the emotions and feelings you felt on the day, by reliving the sounds too.

A wedding film can tell a story in ways that wedding photography alone cannot. It allows you to dive back into your special day and back into a particular moment in time, to feel that feeling again, coupled with the emotions that were running through you. And don’t forget the added sense of sound, the voices, snatches of conversations, cheers and laughter of your guests.

Wedding Videography Service Scottsdale AZ, that's us!

It brings it all back in an instant.

Photos as an art form will always be in demand and isn’t going anywhere and wonderful wedding photos are a real asset. But imagine the feeling of being able to show your kids, or even grand kids, your wedding film during your 30th wedding anniversary. Video has the amazing power of bringing people right back to a special memory on a special day.

Taking it a step further, imagine if you had the chance to watch your parent’s, or grand parent’s wedding day on film, all captured there for you to see and hear everything that happened on the day.
To see that this was the day that started it all and here you are all these years later, all grown up, getting married yourself.

Wouldn’t you just love to see that?

Maybe you’re thinking that photography will be enough for you on your wedding day and that’s absolutely fine. However, if you want to capture all those incredible moments in great detail, such as the laughter, the tears and kind words, then hiring a wedding videographer would absolutely be the right decision for you. It will be a decision you simply won’t regret.

This decision should not be seen as photography versus videography.

Both are of equal value and they compliment each other perfectly. The most common feedback we hear from married couples who did not hire a videographer, is that they wish they had. We have never heard a married couple wish they hadn’t bothered.
We get it. Weddings are expensive events to stage, especially if you want it a certain way. There’s no way round it. Arguably, the most challenging part of organising a wedding was deciding were your priorities lie and making appropriate sacrifices.
As a professional wedding videographer service in Scottsdale AZ, we are naturally biased. However, we believe in capturing your special day and all those special memories, so that you can relive them, should be well up there.

“I don’t want a camera in my face all day.”

You may be thinking that you really don’t want a second camera following you around during your big day. Well, the truth is, you won’t even notice. The days of big camera rigs, getting in everyone’s way are gone.
Nowadays, camera technologies have moved on and we now use small and compact equipment that allows us to move around freely, hardly even noticed.
Using special lenses, we can get those all-important, close up and intimate shots, but from a distance.

A professional videographer will now how to position themselves so as not to get in the way and be as unobtrusive as possible, while all the time making sure they are not obscuring the view for your family and guests.
We know how to remain inconspicuous. The most common feedback we get is that the bride and groom weren’t even aware we were there most of the time.
This is exactly what we’re aiming for, after all, it’s your day and you don’t want anyone spoiling it for you!

Carrying this thread further, filming while remaining perfectly natural, will allow the subjects to relax, without constantly being aware they have a camera directed at them all the time. This allows everyone to be natural and nothing is forced or posed and leads to much better results and overall satisfaction with the end results.

The number one priority when filming a wedding is to be as unobtrusive as possible and to make sure our clients and their guests, can enjoy the day to the maximum. When all is said and done, this approach means that the footage we record, is the best and produces the most memorable moments!

“What if I’m Camera Shy?”

We understand, there are plenty of people out there who just aren’t comfortable being in front of a camera. Over the years, we’ve developed a style of filming that allows us to be totally inconspicuous and we ensure that we build a solid relationship with our clients, that allows them to be comfortable in each other’s presence.

At some convenient part of the day, we will go off with the bride and groom, to get some  more intimate shots including portrait. During this time, it helps if we’ve built up some good rapport with you, which will allow you to relax and for us to get some very relaxed footage.
It’s an opportunity for you both, to take a breather and just have some time together without being pulled in a hundred different directions. Have a laugh and enjoy yourselves!
Our aim here, will be to go off and just take 10 minutes to relax while getting the shots we need.

In our experience, this time is your time. The day can go by so fast, as you’re so busy, that you need to take time out to breath and take it all in. It’s a time to just be yourselves and if you can, it will mean producing the best results. This is your time.
“Do People still do Wedding Videos? I thought that was all so last year!”
Wedding videography has moved on recently, mainly through the use of much improved technology and technique. Sure, there are still many films that look like they were shot in the 90’s, but now things have moved on.
We have developed our techniques and have developed our own style of film making.
There are two main methods of film making and they are the classic documentary style and the more cinematic or artistic approach. We love both methods and ultimately you can decide which you prefer, or even why not combine the both? We are biased here again, as we really have discovered that the best technique by far, is the cinematic style.

Why not be immersed in your own Hollywood production film rather than a home movie?! There’s only one thing that’s really changed the course of wedding videography in recent times and that is technological advancement. Nowadays, we have access to high quality movie tech equipment, that allows us to create that cinema feel and artistic creation.
In the last few years, high tech industry level film equipment, is accessible and we incorporate it in all our work for amazing results! We now use DSLRs instead of the camcorder type equipment, which gives us the high-quality results everyone desires.
Creative us of frame rates and slow motion also help us create the movie feel. However, the most important part of the film production after all the content capturing, is post-production or editing stage. High level color correction along with color grading to the footage in the finishing touches. After that, it’s all about telling a story.
In the production, we create genuine narrative and use music strategically to set the tone. Understanding how music can set the human perception is critical and we are very good at it. Our mission at Wedding Videographer Scottsdale AZ, is to create films that look, sound and feel like mini-movies. Movies that tell you story in the most artistic and beautiful way possible.
We really hope this has helped you decide what’s right for you during your wedding day. After all, who’s day is it anyway? We know of far too many couples who said they saw videography as an “extra cost” and even a “luxury” and absolutely lived to regret not having it.
So, if you’ve decided what’s right and what you want, then give us a call right away on 480 660 3902 to discuss your big day!
